Hi Linda,
There has been some discussion amongst my friends
regarding who is the “scorer” and who is the “attester” on a card. I say
if I am keeping your score I would sign as the “scorer” and you would check the
card and sign as the “attester.” Is this correct?
Thanks for all your great columns.
Lulu from New Westminster, BC
Dear Lulu,
Yes. The fellow competitor who is keeping your score (your
marker) signs next to “scorer.” You, the player, will sign the scorecard next
to “attest.” You are attesting the accuracy of the recorded score. All of this
being said, there is no penalty if you sign in the wrong spot [Decision 6-6b/1].
The only requirement is that both the player and her marker sign the scorecard.
Linda
