I mark the length of each golf club on the shaft, e.g.,
135-150 on the shaft of the 7i. This is to help me in choosing the correct club
during play. Is there any rule which forbids me from marking my clubs in such a
way?

You may write anything you wish anywhere on your golf clubs.
There is no Rule prohibiting this practice.
