If a player hits her ball into a parallel fairway and has a
tree line between her ball and the hole she is playing, can she lay a club
right in front of her ball and stand behind it to help align her target to the
hole???

Dear Lulu,
A player may place a club on the ground to help align her
next shot provided she lifts the club before playing her shot. If she leaves it
on the ground she incurs a two-stroke penalty [Decision 8-2a/1].
