Linda,
I was playing a round of golf yesterday. On one hole my ball
faded and went over a tree-lined hill. I was not sure where it landed, so
I played a provisional ball in case it was out of bounds or lost. I found
my ball and it was in the driving range. The area did not have any white
stakes so I played my original ball. Was this the correct play or should I
have played my provisional ball?
Thanks,
Lulu from Florida
Dear Lulu,
If there are no white stakes to indicate that the driving
range is out of bounds, it is part of the golf course. You must play the ball
as it lies on the range. Your procedure was correct.
