Ask Linda #875-Replaced ball won’t stay put

Linda,

I hope you are fine.

What should we do if it is impossible to replace the ball because it rolls back again and again because of the slope?

Thank you,
Lou from Argentina

Dear Lou,

You get two chances to replace the ball. If it rolls away both times, you must place it at the nearest spot, no closer to the hole, where it will stay put. You may not place it in a hazard if it wasn’t in a hazard in the first place [Rule 20-3d].

If the ball was in a hazard, you must place it in the hazard at the nearest spot no closer to the hole where it will remain at rest.
