Linda, I thought I'd seen this question in one of your email
posts. I went to your site and searched but I either can't find it or I
dreamed it.
Anyway, question is if a player's ball is next to a fence
that is OB but the section of the fence at his/her ball is a gate and the gate
can open and give the player relief to hit the ball, is he/she allowed to do
so?
Lulu from Texas
Dear Lulu,
When a gate in a boundary fence is closed, it is part of the
fence and may not be moved. If the gate happens to be open, the player may
leave it open or close it [Decision 27/18].
