Could you please clear up a dispute? I hit my second shot to
our 18th green, a high 8 iron. The ball came down on a grate that covered a
drain on the side of the green. The ball bounced and landed the on the other side
of the cart path, which was out of bounds… Do I hit a second ball from the
original spot with a stroke and distance penalty…. or hit another shot, without
penalty?

Dear Lou,
The ball is out of bounds. The location of the ball is
determined by where it lies, not how it got there.
